Notes

• Warm heater. Surface temperatures are being tracked for damper comparisons, and data will be added later.
• Damper closed at end of run. (Jan 17/09: damper was found not to be closing all the way. See notes in Testing Series.)
• White birch, 20% moisture
• 6 pieces, 4.5 lb kindling, 63.2 lbs total
  
• First test with grate air open. Note the higher stack temperatures compared to the previous 5 K-series runs.
  
• Noticeably better burn. Low CO, low PM
• 0.59 g/kg PM (Condar)
• 11.43 g/kg CO
• 72.1 % overall efficiency
• NOTE: Condar spreadsheet calculation was modified, starting with this run. The old spreadsheet was set up for gas readings at 5 minute intervals, which were entered from the TESTO data spreadsheet. Now, the averages are calculated directly off the TESTO data, at 30 second intervals, instead of 5 minutes.
• False start, had to light kindling newspaper at middle of pile.
